I would not recommend this product to anyone who enjoys shooting all day. Put the chassis on my R700 and totally regret the decision to do so. If Hera could make additional buttpads to absorb the recoil they may be worth buying. First time out shot 4 rounds of .308 and had to put the rifle away. Waste of money…save yours.

Purchased a Howa H7 in .308 a few months ago, so this stock was already part of the package. Out of the box, the stock fits me far better than my Remington 40X stock, which I was using with major modifications in an attempt to make it fit. Am in agreement with the need for additional recoil protection, though I’ve had it to the range several times and have shot 60 – 80 rounds each time so I’m apparently not as bothered by it as some.
Planning a build for .308 using a Kelby Atlas action in an H7; at that point I might add a different recoil pad and an adjustable butt plate on my own if an updated version – or some butt plate options – aren’t offered by then. But overall, I’m certainly happy enough to use an H7 again on my next .308.
